Make the call.
You have six months to staff a new service. Hire, reskill, contract or automate? Then the business changes its mind. Make three decisions, watch a year play out month by month, and see how your plan compares with every other plan in the case.
The case assumptions.
Every number the game uses, in full. Illustrative, for a fictional company.
Questions.
Is the case real?
No. The company is fictional and every figure is an illustrative assumption, published in full on this page. The point is the reasoning, not the numbers.
How is my score calculated?
The model runs your three decisions month by month for a year: the cost of people and tools, any severance, and the revenue delayed while capacity falls short. Up to 85 points come from how your total compares with the cheapest and most expensive of the 15 possible plans; up to 15 come from how you frame the decision for the board.
Is there one right answer?
Several plans score well, and the best one depends on the assumptions. Change one assumption in real life, such as how fast you can hire, and the answer can change. That is why the courses teach a method rather than a rule.
Is anything I choose saved?
Nothing personal. The game runs in your browser. We record only that a game was played, the plan chosen and the score, with no personal information, to improve the Academy.
